What is Ubiquitous Computing?

Meaning of Words:

Ubiquitous : existing or being everywhere/having or seeming to have the ability to be everywhere at once.

Computing :
the activity of using computers and writing programs for them/
the use of a computer to process data or perform calculations.

So, basically Ubiquitous Computing (Ubicomp) means the activity of using computers and writing programs at everywhere, anywhere(at once)

Mark Weiser is the father of Ubiquitous Computing. He created "Ubiquitous Computing" this phrase in 1988.

  • The purpose of a computer is to help you do something else.
  • The best computer is a quiet, invisible servant.
  • The more you can do by intuition the smarter you are; the computer should extend your unconscious.
  • Technology should create calm.
